About Roen

Roen, meaning “smoke signal,” is an avant-garde rock fashion brand founded in 2001 in Tokyo by legendary designer Hiromu Takahara. From the very beginning, the brand established a distinctive aesthetic rooted in dark romanticism and rock spirit, combining Japan’s precision craftsmanship with deconstructed design to offer a unique choice for fashion lovers seeking individuality and strength.

At the core of Roen’s visual identity lies its iconic heavily-crafted skull motif—a symbol that quickly gained prominence within the rock and metal scenes. Worn by renowned musicians and visual artists alike, Roen has grown into a cult phenomenon, deeply embedded in subculture and fashion circles worldwide.

As part of its global expansion, Roen debuted internationally through a Milan showroom while continuing to operate domestically through e-commerce, flagship stores, and selected boutiques across Japan—balancing its local roots with a worldwide perspective.

The brand has also collaborated with prominent game titles such as Final Fantasy XV and Lost Soul Aside, reinforcing its pioneering role at the intersection of reality and fantasy. Roen rejects mediocrity, standing by the belief that fashion is a statement. Every piece is crafted to embody the wearer’s worldview and inner defiance.

Today, Roen remains a high-end icon of rock fashion. Through creative collaborations with artists, designers, and brands—as well as a robust licensing and sublicensing strategy—Roen continues to evolve, expanding the reach of its dark rock ethos into new cultural landscapes.

Roen is not just clothing—it's a visual language for the rebellious. A fire of will, worn on the body.
